A realistic weekly rhythm

  • Three short root/cloze sessions, two denser listens, one speaking appointment or voice note.
  • One reading day that moves from graded material toward a short native piece.

Keep sessions short enough to finish. A twenty-five minute loop you repeat beats a two-hour Sunday binge you abandon. If a day collapses, restart with listening only — do not punish yourself with a backlog.

A solid practice day

Finish one denser listening or reading piece, invent three sentences that could show up at work or school, and record a short spoken retell. If you cannot finish the input, step down one difficulty rung — don’t restart an easier course for comfort. Note whether the bottleneck was vocabulary, grammar frames, or willingness to speak. Repeat this pattern on three weekdays before stacking new resources.

When tones slip on high-frequency verbs, record ten sentences and re-speak only the verbs. When characters pile up, cut new ones and deepen components for a week. When listening feels fake, use the fifteen-minute listen guide and retell out loud. When speaking stalls, book a short tutor session even if the grammar still feels messy.
