Portuguese · B1–B2

Plateau path — denser vocabulary, weekly speaking, and media that steps up without restarting A1.

A1–A2 B1–B2 C1–C2 Resources

Intermediate operating system (Portuguese)

B1–B2 Portuguese stalls when recognition outruns production. Fix with denser high-frequency vocabulary, weekly speaking, register control (tu/você and formal mail), and media that steps up — not another A1 restart.

Four-week plateau block

  1. Density — First 500 + topic decks; invent two work/school sentences daily.
  2. Output — two short emails or messages; compare openings/closings with a model.
  3. Media step-up — graded news → one harder short clip; 90-second retell.
  4. Integration — tutor on this month’s topics only; 120-word opinion with three connectors (porém, então, além disso).
Model plateau email:
Olá. Envio o relatório até quinta-feira. Os dados de segunda ainda não chegaram. Serve para você?

Portuguese plateau traps

  • Register chaos (chat into workplace mail)
  • News too hard → quitting listening
  • Spanish calques left uncorrected
  • Restarting beginner courses for comfort

A solid practice day

Finish one denser input, invent three situational sentences, record a retell. Step down difficulty before adding apps. Note whether the bottleneck was vocabulary, frames, or willingness to speak.
