Four-week plateau block
- Density — First 500 + topic decks; invent two work/school sentences daily; harvest phrases from graded news into your notebook by situation.
- Output — two short emails or voice notes (です／ます default); compare openings/closings with a model when you have one.
- Media step-up — NHK Easy / graded news → one harder short clip; 90-second Japanese retell.
- Integration — tutor or exchange on this month’s topics only; 120-word opinion with three connectors (でも、だから、それから).

A solid practice day
Finish one denser listening or reading piece, invent three sentences that could show up at work or school, and record a short spoken retell. If you cannot finish the input, step down one difficulty rung — don’t restart an easier course for comfort. Note whether the bottleneck was vocabulary, grammar frames, or willingness to speak.
