Basque (euskara) is a language isolate spoken on both sides of the western Pyrenees. Grammar is ergative and unlike neighboring Romance languages, so expect a slower first month. HABE and Duolingo cover early structure; EITB television and Berria newspaper build listening and reading stamina.
