Graded input → native media
The bridge most B2 learners skip — and why advanced tools on this site exist.
Scope: Patterns across Dreaming Spanish / graded podcasts → News in Slow → RTVE / France Info / Tagesschau / RAI (2026 practice).
What works
- Step difficulty on purpose — finish graded clips easily before slow news; finish slow news before full bulletins.
- Always retell — 40–90 words after each listen, or the bridge fails.
- Harvest language — two phrases into a root family or collocation drill, not twenty orphan words.
What fails
- Jumping from Super Beginner video to political talk radio.
- Passive “immersion” playlists with no output.
- Exam prep without native clips in the same week.
A four-week bridge
- Week 1–2: graded or slow news + 15-minute listen routine.
- Week 3: one native bulletin via media sheets.
- Week 4: same bulletin type + assessed summarize/rewrite.
Verdict
Native media is the destination, not the day-one method. Use graded input to build stamina, slow news as a ramp, then sheets and output tasks so “I listened” becomes “I can say what I heard.”
