About Sindarin
- Language family
- Constructed (fictional — Tolkien legendarium)
- Where it's spoken
- Fictional (Beleriand / Middle-earth); real-world Tolkien linguists
- Speakers
- scholarly and fan learner community
Sindarin is Tolkien’s Grey-elven language — the one most people meet in names and film dialogue. It is morphologically trickier than Quenya (mutations, historical phonology), so pair a patient grammar course with Eldamo lookups. As with Quenya, prefer established linguistic sites over novelty “name generators.”
